Wanted: Police Identify Suspect In Jewelry Store Robbery

Posted: Updated:
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -

Fresno police are searching for two men accused of ripping off a local jewelry store earlier this month.

Police have identified 23-year-old Elliot Lawson as one of two men who walked into Ara Karkazian Jewelers around 1 p.m. on March 15 and posed as customers.

The two men asked an employee to look at some watches. When an employee handed one of the suspects the watch, the other suspect snatched a second watch from the still-opened jewelry display case, police said.

The two men fled with two Rolex watches, police said.

They were last seen getting into a dark-colored vehicle.

Police describe the unidentified second suspect as a 25 to 28 year-old, African-American male, about 5 foot 8 inches tall and 150 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Lawson or information regarding the second suspect is asked to call the Fresno Police Department at 621-2427 or Crime Stoppers at 498-STOP where a tip leading to an arrest could be worth $1,000.
