FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Two people were rushed to the hospital after a drive-by-shooting at the corner of Shields and Hughes avenues in central Fresno.

The shots rang out just before 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police say a black SUV drove up the intersection, and a passenger in the back seat fired several shots at two men inside of a white Cadillac.

The black SUV then took off, police said.

The driver of the white Cadillac turned into the neighborhood and stopped about a block away to get help from neighbors.

Police say the two men went to the hospital. Both are expected to survive.

A search for the shooters in the black SUV is currently underway.
