Merced Child, 4, Drowns In Hot Tub Incident

MERCED, Calif. (KMPH) -

A 4-year-old Merced child drowned in a tragic hot tub accident last week, the Merced Police Department said. 

Officers arrived at the 1200 block of Paso Redondo Drive for a possible child drowning at 4:15 p.m. on March 15.

The family had found the child unconscious in the hot tub, according to reports. Medical personnel attempted to resuscitate the child.

The child was transported to Mercy hospital. The child was later pronounced dead.

An investigation into the incident did not reveal any evidence of criminal negligence.
