KMPH News Anchor Debuts Children's Book

Posted:

KMPH Ten O'Clock News Anchor Ashley Ritchie debuted her new children's book Tuesday on Great Day. Mr. Pickles Paints the Town is the story of Mr. Pickles, who wakes up one morning to find that the world lost its color during the night.

It's up to him to paint things back to the way they used to be. During his adventures, Mr. Pickles meets new friends who help him figure out what color things like the grass, sun, ocean and fire trucks are.

Ashley wrote the book after having her son in August 2011. She nicknamed him "Mr. Pickles" and says the idea came after reading to him every night, and deciding to fulfill her lifelong dream of publishing a book.

If you'd like to get your hands on a copy, they're available on Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com and the Tate Publishing website. Also, look for them soon in a bookstore near you.
