Fire officials shut down a block in Fowler after a gas line ruptured.
FOWLER, Calif. (KMPH) -
A ruptured high-flow gas line Friday morning has forced safety officials to shut down a Fowler roadway.
Merced Street in Fowler is closed from Golden State to Fifth Street due to what CAL Fire officials are calling a "significant" leak.
CAL Fire spokesman Ryan Michael said that an inch and a half of line was ruptured. He also said that a number of Pacific Gas and Electric, Co. gas repairmen are tied up with a gas leak on Shaw Avenue in Fresno.
There may be major delays in the area.
