FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Two men were arrested on Thursday after local law enforcement officials uncovered more than 200 marijuana plants inside of a northeast Fresno home.

The Fresno MAGEC anti-gang unit arrested Xayphone Phanhnouvang and Keooudone Sackdavone inside of a home in the 2300 block of East Vassar Avenue around 11 p.m.

Officers found nearly 200 marijuana plants being grown inside of the home and underneath and on a covered patio.

Both men told officers that the marijuana was being sold for medical purposes, said MAGEC Sgt. Paul Cervantes.

Officers said that the elaborate indoor grow was capable of producing marijuana year round.

A loaded handgun was also found inside of the home.

Phanhnouvang and Sackdavone were booked into the Fresno County Jail for narcotic and weapons-related offenses.
