DINUBA, Calif. (KMPH) -

A Dinuba bank was robbed Wednesday afternoon by a man who placed a bomb on a counter, authorities said.

The Dinuba Police Department responded to a robbery alarm at Rabobank in downtown Dinuba around 3:52 p.m.

Police evacuated the bank immediately and discovered that a suspicious package was placed on a teller's counter along with a note indicating there was a bomb.

The Tulare County Consolidated Explosive Ordinance Destruction team examined and destroyed the package.

The robber, however, was able to flee the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He is described as a Hispanic male, between the age of 50-60 years old, 5 foot 6 inches tall, and weighing approximately 200 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a long-sleeve green windbreaker-type shirt, jeans and white and green baseball cap. The suspect has a gray and white mustache and was also wearing sunglasses.

Anyone with information is asked to please call the Dinuba Police Department at 591-5911 or 591-TIP1 (8471) to remain anonymous
