Madera Man Convicted For Child Sexual Assault, Faces 41 Years To Life

MADERA, Calif. (KMPH) -

A Madera man who was arrested for sexually assaulting a child has been convicted in superior court.

A Madera Superior Court jury on Thursday convicted 32-year-old Marcos Palomar of four felony counts of sexual assault on a child, under the age of 14, according to Madera County District Attorney Michael R. Keitz.

Senior Deputy District Attorney Sally Moreno presented evidence at trial that between 2011 and 2012, Palomar repeatedly molested a child.

According to reports, the child alerted school officials about the sexual assaults. The school officials then contacted the police.

Palomar is scheduled to be sentenced on March 15 in the Madera Superior Court. He faces up to 41 years to life in state prison.
