FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
A lone bandit is still on the loose.
However, police are hoping surveillance video from inside a southeast Fresno Valero gas station will help put him in jail.
Store employees declined on camera interviews but say they've never seen the man before the robbery.
He used a fake gun, but employees say when it was pointed at them, they couldn't tell.
As the robber was inside, another employee, a 55-year old man armed with a broom, walked in and knocked the gun out of the robber's hand.
It fell on the counter.
The would-be-robber then ran out of the store and drove away.
Police describe him as a 40- to 45-year-old Hispanic male, 5-8 to 6 feet tall, 180 to 200 pounds, with black hair and goatee.
He got away in a small 4-door gray car.
