TULARE, Calif. (KMPH) -

This year's World Ag Expo opened its doors Tuesday in Tulare.

This is the expos 46th year.

It is the largest annual agricultural exposition of it's kind featuring more than 1,400 exhibitors, displaying cutting edge Ag technology on more than two and a half million square feet of show grounds.

So why all the interest?

"California is the number one ag state in the country," said Ron Blessing. "One of the largest in the world if not the largest in the world. We have 250 cash crops in this state, eight of the top 10 counties in the United States in agricultural production are in this state. It's very important that we be here."

Organizers are expecting about 100,000 people from 70 countries to visit the Expo this year.

The World Ag Expo runs through this Thursday.
