Jim Sweeney To Be Remembered At Memorial

A public memorial service has been set for legendary former Fresno State head football coach Jim Sweeney.

The celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Jim Sweeney Field at Bulldog Stadium.

Sweeney died last Friday at the age of 83. He spent 19 seasons as head coach at Fresno State.

He is credited with putting Fresno State's football program on the national map, garnering 143 of his 200 wins as a coach with the Bulldogs.

The memorial is open to the public.

The white lot is open for parking, gathering and even tailgating.

Golf carts will be available to shuttle those who need it. Seating will be open on the west side of the stadium.
