Fatal Crash On Highway 152

LOS BANOS, Calif. (KMPH) -

A woman was killed on Monday morning in a head-on collision just outside of Los Banos, the California Highway Patrol said.

The 25-year-old woman, whose name is being withheld pending notification of her next of kin, allowed her 1995 Honda Civic to drift across the center median of Highway 152 near the Romero Visitor Center into the westbound lane of oncoming traffic.

Update: The woman was hit by two cars before being ejected from her vehicle where she suffered fatal injuries, the CHP said. The seatbelt in the woman's car is under investigation due to the amount of damage sustained in the accident.

The drivers of the two additional cars involved in the traffic accident where transported to nearby hospitals with minor to major injuries.

Officers do not know if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.

The incident is currently under investigation.

The accident happened around 4 a.m. near the Romero Visitor Center by the San Luis Reservoir.

Two cars were involved and it's possible one crossed over into oncoming traffic, the CHP said.
