Fresno State Signs 24 Recruits

Tim DeRuyter's first full recruiting class at Fresno State contains 24 signees.

Seventeen of them are from California. Six are from Central Valley high schools or junior colleges.

Coach DeRuyter says it was easier to recruit local players this time because they saw great improvement in the Bulldogs.

Last year, Fresno State was coming off a 4-9 season.  This year, the Bulldogs went 9-4 and won a share of the Mountain West Conference championship.

Breaking down the recruits by position, Fresno State signed five defensive linemen, four offensive linemen, four receivers, one tight end, one quarterback, one running back, three linebackers, four defensive backs, and one kicker.
