Monday was a pretty exciting day for Arlyne Boyer and her daughter, Marcy.

Boyer and her children were cleaning out a garage on Sunday when they found four sticks of dynamite in an old freezer.

Boyer called the sheriff's office first thing Monday, and the response ensued from there. Late Monday afternoon, the dynamite was safely destroyed--and the Boyers got to help.

The Mariposa County Sheriff's Office and Merced Bomb Squad went to the home on Tip Top Road. CAL FIRE stood by in case of fire.

Boyer said the whole experience was surreal.

"What an exhausting, yet hysterical day," Boyer said on Monday evening.

They watched as the bomb squad's robotic unit moved the dynamite from the garage to the lower portion of the property.

Boyer said the robot made two trips to retrieve the four sticks of dynamite. When it was time to detonate it, Boyer and her daughter did the honors.

"I got to press the button," Boyer said, then, "kaboom!"

    Shorter Work Week Proposed

How would you feel about only working three days a week? One of the world's richest people now says we should *all* be doing it. Mexican telecom billionaire Carlos Slim is now recommending a shorter work week. He announced his idea at a business conference in Paraguay. But there's a catch. The three–day work week would be offset by longer work hours. Slim proposes an 11 hour work day, and a later retirement of age 70 or 75.
