Would-Be Car Thief Shoots Fresno Man

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Fresno Police are investigating a shooting that landed a man in the hospital.

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. Tuesday near Geneva & Church in the southwest area of the city.

Officers say a man whose car was in the process of being stolen tried to stop the thief. When that happened, they say, the would-be thief shot the man.

The man was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center. His condition is unknown.

Police saturated the area, and conducted a house-to-house search using K-9 units.
