FRESNO, Calif. --- In its final tune-up before starting Mountain West play, the Fresno State men's basketball team found its offensive stroke and applied consistent defensive pressure for an 89-64 wire-to-wire win over Sonoma State in a Sunday matinee at the Save Mart Center.

Junior Tyler Johnson led all scorers with a career-high 25 points on 9-of-12 from the floor and added eight rebounds and four assists to help the Bulldogs snap their four-game losing streak.

Fresno State built a 21-point lead (29-8) midway through the first half, which Sonoma State closed to a six-point deficit twice in the final minute of the half before a final basket by Tyler Johnson gave the Bulldogs a 43-35 halftime lead over the Seawolves.

The Bulldogs built it back to an 18-point advantage at 58-40, which Sonoma State cut to 10 at 60-50. Fresno State then rattled off a 10-0 run for another 18-point edge at 68-50 and cruised to the closing buzzer for the 25-point win.

Fresno State's Marvelle Harris added a career-best 20 points on 7-of-9 on his field goal attempts to headline a 55 percent shooting showing by the Bulldogs. Kevin Olekaibe scored 15 points, which marked his 48th double-digit game of his three-year Fresno State career.

Will Olsem led four players in double figures for Sonoma State (4-4) with 13 points. Patrick Scott added 12 points, and Steve Lackey and Emmanuel Bradford scored 10 apiece.

Fresno State (6-7) returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 9 in its MW debut when the Bulldogs host No. 17/16 San Diego State at 8:30 p.m. PT.
