FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Police say they have arrested a man and woman responsible for a series of armed robberies.

23-year-old Alberto Lazaro was taken into custody on December 15th after robbing a family at gunpoint. Police say Lazaro even racked the slide on the handgun as if preparing to shoot the couple, or their 7-year-old-son, if they refused to give up their wallet and purse. Shortly after, Lazaro was arrested by the Violent Crimes Tactical Team.

Later, investigators arrested Lazaro's girlfriend, 28-year-old Amber Watts.

The couple are accused of being connected to a series of armed robberies.

Along with charges of armed robbery, Lazaro is facing charges for parole violation.

Anyone with information about this robbery series, or other crimes committed by Lazaro and Watts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
