The Fresno State football team heads to Honolulu with a pair of goals in mind.
Number one is to beat SMU in the Hawaii Bowl, securing the program's first ten-win season since 2001.
The trip is also a reward for the players, who won the Bulldogs' first conference championship since 1999.
Head Coach Tim DeRuyter hopes to achieve both objectives.
He says the team will have to put in hard work on the practice field to prepare for the Mustangs. But he also wants his players to enjoy the bowl experience.
One of their most important trips while in Honolulu will be a visit to the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.
DeRuyter expects his players to recognize the sacrifices made by others on behalf of all Americans.
