Posted:
TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -

Two men are behind bars, accused of impersonating police officers in the Porterville area.

The Tulare County Sheriff's Office says 56-year-old William Morton and 31-year-old Christopher Morton -- both from the Porterville area -- tried to kidnap a man near Main and Henderson on Thursday.

Deputies say the two attacked the man and tried to handcuff him, claiming to be police officers.

The man was able to free himself and call for help.

The two suspects were arrested a short time later and booked into jail.
