Mountain Murder; One Man Dead, One Man Arrested In Midpines

MARIPOSA COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -

A fight in a mountain town in the Sierra leaves one man dead and another behind bars.

Mariposa County Sheriff's deputies say, Saturday night, they were called to a house on Rancheria Creek Road in Midpines; that's about 75 miles north of Fresno.

A man who lived at the home was found dead. He has been identified as 43-year-old Gordon Crisp.

51-year-old Jeffrey Clark was arrested and is now facing one charge of murder. He is being held on $1 million bail in the Mariposa County Jail.

Deputies say several people saw the murder.

Mariposa County Sheriff Doug Binnewies said an autopsy is expected to be completed on Tuesday.
