To celebrate Great American Smokeout, http://electroniccigarettehub.org is giving away free electronic cigarette starter kits to help more people quit smoking.
(PRWEB) November 15, 2012
Every year, on the third Thursday of November, smokers across the nation take part in the American Cancer Society Great American Smokeout. They may use the date to make a plan to quit, or plan in advance and then quit smoking that day. The event challenges people to stop using tobacco and helps people know about the many tools they can use to quit and stay quit.
“I've only just recently got my electronic cigarette, but I can already feel the changes! No more smoking outside when it's freezing cold, no more ashtrays to empty, and no more toxic regular cigarettes. This is the best present I've bought myself in years!” exclaimed Patrick Johnson.
Like Patrick, more and more people are discovering the wonders of being free from the shackles of tobacco smoking. The thing about smoking is that it's a common knowledge that it is not healthy. However, because of the addicting components of the product, millions of people remain tied to it.
Quitting cold turkey has been an option forwarded for as long as one can remember, but this approach has also been known to be not exactly for everybody. Nicotine patches and gums have also been the craze for a while, but so far, none of these methods have managed to come up with a result as fantastic as that of the e cigarettes.
E cigs, as they are more commonly known, are pen-like devices that are designed to simulate the look and feel of a tobacco cigarette. A major replacement, however, would be the tobacco leaves and the accompanying harmful toxins and chemicals. In its stead, the electric cigarette carries a liquid vapor cartridge, which then enables the device to emit odorless, colorless vapor. This is also why it is also identified as smokeless cigarettes.
It is, of course, understandable for people to wonder just how safe this liquid vapor actually is. After all, it wouldn’t mean much to quit tobacco if the replacement ingredient is also going to turn out to be as harmful as the actual cigarette.
To find this out, a study was conducted by a group of Greek researchers from the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center in Athens, led by Dr. Konstantinos Farsalinos. In this study, they found that because of practically absent harmful chemicals, vapor cigarettes are, by and large, do not pose any harm or threat to the user’s heart.
"Considering the hazards associated with cigarette smoking, currently available data suggest that electronic cigarettes are far less harmful, and substituting tobacco with electronic cigarettes may be beneficial to health," said Dr. Farsalinos.
While there are plenty more room for studies and researches on e cigarettes, curious folks, in the meantime, may read up on it some more via http://electroniccigarettehub.org
