Lemoore Standoff Ends When Man Surrenders

LEMOORE, Calif. (KMPH) -

A 6-hour SWAT standoff in Lemoore ended with a man surrendering peacefully to officers.

Someone who knew the man called Lemoore police around 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, saying he was threatening to hurt himself, or others, and that he had a gun in his trailer. No one else was in the trailer with him.

SWAT team members and crisis negotiators arrived at the Kings Estates Trailer Park on Hanford Armona road at around 6:00 p.m., and evacuated the trailer park after the man refused to talk to police over the phone.

The standoff ended around 10:30 p.m. when the man opened his door and surrendered. He was taken into custody. No shots were fired, and no one was hurt.
