FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
Fresno firefighters say a family's dogs are heroes for alerting them to a house fire.
It happened late Tuesday night at a home on Thomas Avenue and Third Street in Central Fresno.
A father and his two children were sleeping when the fire broke out.
Firefighters say the family's dogs started barking, and that's when they woke up and realized their home and RV were on fire.
All the family members -- including their dogs -- were able to get out safely.
It took firefighters about 10 minutes to put out the flames.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
