Authorities say the Contra Costa County jail is on lockdown after an inmate died in the facility.
Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee told the San Francisco Chronicle (http://bit.ly/WZxTB6 ) the inmate died in the intake area of the Martinez facility.
No other details, including the name of the victim, have been released.
Officials say during the lockdown, no new inmates were being taken into the jail.
