FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
The deadly meningitis outbreak tied to tainted steroid injections has spread to a nineteenth state.
Rhode Island reported its first case Monday to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
More than 300 cases of meningitis have been reported across the United States and 25 people have died.
Only four of the 23 states that received some of the medication have not reported a case of fungal meningitis; they are: California, Nevada, West Virginia and Connecticut.
The steroid was supplied by New England Compounding Center of Massachusetts. The company now faces multiple investigations.
