MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Madera County.

The accident happened around 9:45 p.m. Sunday at Road 29 and Avenue 7.

The CHP says the driver of a Cadillac ran a stop sign and broadsided a Honda with five people inside.

As a result, the Honda overturned and came to rest on its roof.

Officers say a woman inside was not wearing her seat belt, was thrown from the car and died at the scene. The Madera County Sheriff's Office has identified her as 21-year-old Elisabed Lucerito Matamoro-Luna, of Fresno.

The driver of the Honda and three passengers -- including a one-month-old, two-year-old and 16-year-old -- were taken to an area hospital with what the CHP described as moderate to major injuries.

The driver of the Cadillac was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Investigators believe alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
