FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
Giants fans were thinking sweep as World Series game four began to unfold two time zones away. Many of the faithful brought their brooms with them.
There were twice as many people at Chukchansi Park in downtown Fresno than there were on opening day last Wednesday. Annie Goodman is a former Chukchansi employee. "It's great to see the colors, the Giants colors. It's great to see everybody here. It's like a big family here and watching our team."
Big kids and little kids were stretching their arms and playing catch, just like the big boys do. Robert Ybarra brought his grand kids to the park for a little peace and quiet. "They can burn off some energy while I watch the game and it's loud enough. I can hear the game still and the kids can play."
Most of the fans were wearing the Giants colors. We even experienced a couple of Panda sightings. Kevin O'Neal and his daughter McKenzie were savoring the moment. "Just figured this is a great way to watch a game being outside and all the kids playing. Again huge Giants fans, love to get out and watch a World Series victory hopefully."
Across town it was another packed house at Doghouse Grill. Giants fans were everywhere with their brooms and other orange and black arsenal. "I got these they're Giants hold hands that you can kind of put a beverage in and stuff but they're just kind of to pump the fans up."
Less than an hour later their team was wearing the World Series crown.
