Fresno Unified School District has something new to crow about.
The California Department of Education has released the scores from its Academic Performance Index for 2012.
According to those figures, Fresno Unified's API score is now 724, which is 10 points higher than last year.
Also, 46% of schools met all growth targets compared to 38% in 2011.
So what does that mean?
More Fresno Unified students are learning what they're supposed to and learning it well, administrators say.
FUSD Superintendent Michael Hanson says the scores show the district is "absolutely moving in the right direction."
