Gas Theft Ring Investigation Nabs 3 In Madera County

Posted:
MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -

Three people from Fresno have been arrested in connection with a fuel theft ring investigation, the Madera County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies said they were tipped off about a possible sale of stolen gas in Madera early Tuesday morning.

Deputies caught up with 25-year-old Uy Santomasso on Avenue 7 east of Highway 99.

Investigators said she reportedly arranged to meet someone who could supply her with a full tank of gas.

Santomasso was arrested after deputies said she was found to be driving on a suspended license and in possession of meth, drug paraphernalia and stolen property.

Investigators said she was supposed to meet 23-year-old Yadwinder Virk.

Virk and another man -- identified as 29-year-old Kulvir Singh -- were arrested hours earlier on Avenue 17 near Rodeo Drive on suspicion of possessing narcotics and burglary tools.

All three suspects were booked into the Madera County Jail with bail set at $10,000 each.
