FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
Crews worked into the early morning hours Monday to clear more than 70 gallons of gas off a Southwest Fresno roadway.
It spilled when a big rig carrying diesel fuel was involved in a crash with a car near Jensen and West around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
The California Highway Patrol says the 18-year-old driver of a Pontiac made an unsafe turn, lost control and crossed into the path of the big rig.
The big rig struck the right side of the Pontiac.
A 16-year-old girl riding in the car was killed. The driver of the car was taken to Community Regional Medical Center after suffering a concussion and cuts.
The driver of the big rig was not hurt.
