Roosevelt and Sunnyside kicked off their North Yosemite League schedules with wins in Thursday night's Valley high school football action.
The Rough Riders won a high-scoring game with Hoover, 42-35, improving to 3-3 overall.
The Patriots are 1-5 under first year head coach Mike Hill, the son of former Fresno State head coach Pat Hill.
Sunnyside got on the board early and often against Fresno. Defensive back Najee Morgan opened the scoring when he returned a fumble for a touchdown. Errian Wingfield's touchdown run put the Wildcats up 14-0, and they never looked back on the way to a 44-14 victory.
Sunnyside evens its overall record at 3-3 while the Warriors fall to 1-5 under first year head coach Rick Stewart.
