MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -
The Madera County Sheriff's Office says one of two people accused of burglarizing a home then going on a shopping spree with their victims' credit cards is no longer on the loose.
Anthony Garcia, 34, turned himself in Friday afternoon.
Authorities started searching for him as soon as they received a tip from a citizen Thursday night.
Detectives say surveillance video caught Garcia using credit cards that were stolen from a Madera Ranchos home last week.
Investigators believe he and a woman ransacked the place, took the credit cards and thousands of dollars worth of belongings.
The surveillance video also caught the couple leaving in a gray or silver-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Anyone with information about the second suspect is asked to call the Madera County Sheriff's Department at (559) 675-7770.
Sheriff John Anderson wants to remind people living in Madera County that the county has what's called a "house check" system, where people can call the sheriff's department if they know they'll be out of town and have a department volunteer check on their home until they get back.
