Report: President Obama Knew Consulate Attack Linked To al-Qaeda

Posted:
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

A bombshell new report suggests the White House knew within 24 hours the deadly attack on the U.S. consulate was the work of Al Qaeda.

The Obama administration has denied for weeks it was the work of a terrorist organization.

President Obama still has not called the deadly 9-11 raid on our consulate in Libya a terror attack.

Even though some in his administration - including his own secretary of state - are now branding it as the work of Al Qaeda.

Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton says, "They are working with other violent extremists to undermine the democratic transitions under way in North Africa, as we tragically saw in Benghazi."

When the President's Press Secretary, Jay Carney was asked why his boss hasn't called it a terrorist attack he said just because he hasn't said it out loud doesn't mean he doesn't acknowledge that it was - in fact - carried out by terrorists.

While the White House has repeatedly said the FBI needs time to investigate the attacks, Fox News learned 16 days after the attack, there are still no FBI agents on the ground because the security situation is too unstable.

Congressman Buck McKeon along with 7 republicans, including the heads of the intelligence, foreign affairs, appropriations and judiciary committees wrote a letter of protest to President Obama.

They cite last Thursday's briefing, by the Secretary of State and the director of National Intelligence as leaving many questions unanswered.

A sentiment shared by some democrats' right after the classified session.

Rep. Adam Smith says: "They're still piecing together, obviously still trying to figure out who perpetrated the attack."

Another group of senators are now demanding Susan Rice, America's Ambassador to the United Nations, to provide more answers about what happened in Libya.

Sen. John McCain says, "Look, this was an attack on its face. Reason why, heavy weapons, mortars, a well synchronized, direct fire and indirect fire attack."

You may recall just this week, in his speech to the United Nations, President Obama defended the American right to free speech even though that protection allowed for the creation of the anti-Islam film.

A film that the president said started the heated protests in the Middle East.
