FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
A woman is recovering after she was hit by a truck while taking her daughter to school in Central Fresno.
It happened before 8 a.m. Thursday at Clinton and Orchard, near First Street.
Witnesses say the woman was walking her 6-year-old to nearby Birney Elementary School when she was hit by a truck.
The woman's child was not hurt, and she was handed over to her grandmother.
Fresno Police say the woman was badly hurt, but they do expect her to survive.
The driver of the truck did stop but could face charges since police believe he did not have a license.
