The unemployment rate in Fresno County was 14.0 percent in August, down from a revised 14.7 percent in July, and below the year-ago estimate of 15.8 percent.
The unemployment rate in Kings County was 13.6 percent, down from a revised 14.4 percent, and below the year-ago estimate of 15.0 percent.
The unemployment rate in Madera County was 13.0 percent, down from a revised 14.1 percent, and below the year-ago estimate of 14.4 percent.
The unemployment rate in Merced County was 15.9 percent, down from a revised 17.3 percent, and below the year-ago estimate of 17.0 percent.
The unemployment rate in Tulare County was 15.0 percent, down from a revised 15.7 percent, and below the year-ago estimate of 16.2 percent.
California's unemployment rate was 10.6 percent in August, down from 10.7 percent the previous month.
The national unemployment rate was 8.1 percent.
