It is easy to expect an offensive shootout Saturday night when the Fresno State football team travels to Tulsa.
After all, the Bulldogs just put up 69 points in a win over Colorado, while the Golden Hurricane scored 66 to top Nicholls State.
But there is also something to be said for the defensive units of the two teams.
Tulsa leads the nation in quarterback sacks, and its best player has been out on suspension.
As for the Bulldogs, they have turned around the turnover ration with eight takeaways, five interceptions and three fumble recoveries in the first three games.
Fresno State had nine total in 13 games last year.
Getting takeaways and limiting turnovers will continue to be one of the Bulldogs' key areas of attention. They work on it every day in practice.
The results the players are seeing on the field are really boosting the confidence of the unit.
