THREE RIVERS, Calif. (KMPH) -
The pastor of a South Valley foothill church says a man linked to the movie "The Innocence of Muslims" spoke at his church.
You may recall, the film started a deadly attack on U.S. diplomats in Libya.
Pastor Warren Mark Campbell of Church at Kaweah in Three Rivers says his phone has been ringing off the hook from reporters around the world.
He says the only reason he had Steve Klein speak at last year's Old Paths Christian History Conference, is because Klein is a specialist on the subject of Islam.
But the pastor also says he had a variety of speakers touch on different subjects at the two-day conference.
Pastor Campbell says, "We speak on biblical agrarianism's that is Christian living on the land, how to till the soil, deal with first aid, history all kinds of subjects that we believe.
Klein was a consultant who worked on the anti-Islam film that has sparked outrage in the Middle East and led to the death of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other government employees.
In published reports Klein told reporters quote he doesn't "give a darn" if Muslims find the movie offensive.
The intent of the film he says was to help identify people who sympathized with Osama bin Laden and terrorists.
But the American Islamic Council says the film depicted Muhammad in a "very sexual, very demeaning way" which ultimately incited a "mob to act."
As for Pastor Campbell's thoughts of the film, he found it to be disconnected in how it was put together, besides being low budget.
Pastor Campbell says Klein is not a member of his church, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't welcome him or allow him to speak again.
