VISALIA, Calif. (KMPH) -
A young 49ers fan will get to see her idols up close and personal this weekend.
The South Valley girl will be on the football field, alongside the players and referees, at Candlestick Park during the Niners' first home game.
Her father, a die hard 49ers fan for three decades, signed her up online for the 49ers Kids Club.
Last week he got a call from the organization saying his 11–year–old daughter's name was randomly pulled in the nationwide contest to be the "coin flip kid" at next Sunday's home game against the Detroit Lions.
"She'll be on the field with the players during warm–ups, and during the coin toss, Ebony will walk out to the middle of the field with four captains," said Daniel Longoria.
Ebony Avina is not just a fan of the 49ers, she also plays the sport.
Of course, she'll be wearing her favorite 49ers jersey, number 85, Vernon Davis, is her favorite player.
"Ebony's really hoping to meet Vernon Davis. She loves Vernon Davis. After that NFC game against New Orleans, when he got emotional, we all got emotional, we all had tears in our eyes," said Longoria.
But now she's all smiles and the envy of her friends at school.
"I told them, they're like dang, good for you, congratulations," said Ebony.
She thanks her dad for signing her up for the 49ers Kids Club.
He'll be with Ebony at the game – they were given two tickets, and passes to a 49ers tailgate party.
He says the phone call alerting him that ebony was a winner, was perfect timing.
"Because she had run for fitness secretary at her school and lost by a few votes. So she was kind of down. Then I came home and told everybody," said Longoria.
The 49ers organization also gave them tickets to the alumni 49ers tailgate party.
This will be Ebony's first trip to Candlestick Park.
