FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -
The Fresno County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a body was found in a newly-cut corn field.
Investigators say field workers made the discovery early Monday afternoon near Jameson and Nebraska avenues; that's about 11 miles west of Caruthers.
Sheriff's spokesman Chris Curtice says part of the body was buried, and it didn't look like it was there very long.
This case is being treated as a homicide, but no other information has been released.
