FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
A car thief got more than he bargained for after the SUV he ripped off was equipped with a GPS tracking device.
With the Fresno Police helicopter circling above, officers entered an east Fresno home with guns drawn.
In the end, they found 26-year-old Aaron Samuelian who police say had just stolen a Cadillac Escalade from a tire shop in Clovis.
Police say the vehicle was equipped with OnStar which allowed officers to find its exact location.
Next door neighbor Erica Brown just moved into her Fresno home last Friday; she moved ironically from Clovis.
Erica Brown says, "Make sure I lock my truck. I don't live in Clovis anymore. Welcome to the neighborhood."
Police say anti-theft devices like OnStar and LoJack allow them to find stolen vehicles faster, giving the crooks less time to strip the stolen cars down to parts.
