ID Thieves Accused Of Stealing From Dozens Of South Valley Mailboxes

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -

A man and woman are behind bars accused of stealing the identity of dozens of people in the South Valley.

On Saturday, Tulare County Deputies were called out to a mail theft in the area of Avenue 138 and Road 272 outside of Porterville.

When deputies got there, witnesses described a car with two people inside that pulled up to two mailboxes and stole mail.

Deputies found that car at a home in Ducor a few miles away.

They arrested Isaias Hernandez and Tasha Guillermo for outstanding warrants.

After searching their car, deputies found the stolen mail.

Police say the two are responsible for stealing mail from at least 35 other people and stealing the identities of 24 of them.

Both Hernandez and Guillermo were booked into jail on identity theft charges.
