Attempted Kidnapping Near Fresno School

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping near a Fresno school.

Fresno Police say a 14-year-old girl ran into the Lowell Elementary School office Friday morning and said that a man told her to get in his car.

The girl is a student at Dubois Charter Academy. She says the incident happened at Poplar near Divisadero, just a few steps from Lowell Elementary.

Police say she did the right thing by running off for help.

The man's car was described as a brown Honda.
