FOWLER, Calif. (KMPH) -
Authorities in Fowler are investigating an attempted kidnapping near a school.
The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday near Fremont Elementary, which is located at 5th and Tuolumne streets.
An 8-year-old girl told Fowler police officers that a man -- who spoke Spanish -- told her to get in his car.
She ran away to a family member's home and called police.
The man is described as older and Hispanic, with collar-length brown hair. He was seen driving a black newer model SUV.
