The Visalia Rawhide blew a late 1-0 lead at San Jose Wednesday night, losing to the rival Giants 2-1 in ten innings.
The defeat deals a setback to Visalia's California League playoff hopes. The Rawhide are now five games out of first place with only 12 to play.
The loss also spoiled a great pitching performance by Bradin Hagens, who gave up one hit in eight scoreless innings. San Jose got to the bullpen for single runs in the ninth and tenth.
John Griffin gave Visalia a 1-0 lead with his 23rd home run of the season in the top of the ninth inning.
San Jose tied it in the bottom of the ninth on a bases loaded walk with two outs, then won the game in the tenth on a sacrifice fly.
