
The sun is setting on the Grizzlies' season, as they continued their Pacific Coast League homestand Monday night with a 6-2 loss to Tucson.
The Padres scored three runs in the second inning to take the lead for good.
Tucson added single runs in the third and fourth innings, taking a 5-0 lead when Jose Merchan delivered a run scoring double off of Fresno starter Yusmeiro Petit, who took the loss to fall to 6-6 on the year.
The Grizzlies are 67-63, 11 games behind first place Sacramento with 14 games left in the season.
Fresno ends the latest homestand with one more game against Tucson Tuesday night at Chukchansi Park.
