Weaver Makes Amateur Final; Ramirez To Turn Pro

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Clovis West grad and current UC Berkeley golfer, Michael Weaver, will play for the United States Amateur title on Sunday in a 36 hole match play contest against Steven Fox of Tennessee, at Cherry Hills Country Club in Colorado. The 21 year old, Weaver, won his semifinal match 3-2 with father, Bill, as his caddie.

Olympic boxer, and Avenal native says he expects to turn pro within the next month. Ramirez was honored before Saturday's Fresno Grizzlies game, and he threw out the first pitch.
