Unemployment: Most Valley Counties Saw Dip In July

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

New figures released by the Employment Development Department Friday morning show the number of unemployed people went down in most Valley counties last month.

Here is a breakdown of the jobless rate for each county:

Merced: 17.5% in July, down from 17.7% in June.

Tulare: 15.8%, up from 15.2%.

Fresno: 14.7%, down from 15.2%.

Kings: 14.5%, down from 15.4%.

Madera: 14.1%, down from 14.6%.

California's unemployment rate was unchanged at 10.7% in July.
