FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
Five days after Fresno police say she tried to kill her parents, 24-year-old Lisa Alarcon was tracked down to a home in southwest Fresno.
It took a police perimeter, several hours and a quick hair check by Alarcon, but eventually, she surrendered.
Fresno police say just after 3 a.m. this past Saturday, Lisa's parents were sleeping inside their bedroom and she fired into their home.
You can still see the window boarded up there.
But why she did that, is still a mystery.
Police say she'd been at the house earlier that night and was upset with her parents about something.
And after coming back later and firing into their bedroom window, she's been on the run, until Thursday, when police finally caught up with her.
"We didn't want to just go inside the house. So we waited outside for her to come to us," Sergeant Glen Schafer, Fresno Police Department, said.
It took Alarcon about three hours to come out and the reason why points to the smallest victim of this callous crime.
"One of the children was related to the suspect and she wanted time to say goodbye before she was arrested," Schafer said.
As for Lisa's parents, both were shot in the leg, but have since been released from the hospital.
A man was also taken into custody for questioning Thursday.
Police say he is cooperating.
Lisa Alarcon faces serious charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and possibly attempted murder.
