CLOVIS, Calif. (KMPH) -

It took six months of good police work but in the end three people are behind bars accused of ripping off thousands of dollars worth of California lottery tickets.

Tuesday morning, Clovis police arrested 41-year-old Julian Zuniga, Sr. along with 46-year-old Sandra Poe for the burglary.

Police say 27-year-old Lilia Pinedo was also involved and was found with the stolen property, along with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Cops say they hit several shops in the area, and then sold the stolen lottery tickets throughout the state.

Simirit Dillion had his father's gas station burglarized.

Simirit says, "If those people who put all that effort into stealing and robbing, if they would put that much effort into school, they wouldn't have to do something like this."

Clovis police believe Zuniga and Poe may also responsible for as many as 20 burglaries in Sacramento and Southern California.

Besides the lottery tickets and cigarettes, police say the trio also had a number of stolen car exhaust tips and headlights.
