BASS LAKE, Calif. (KMPH) -

Madera County Sheriff's Investigators say an explosive device damaged the Bass Lake Courthouse early Tuesday morning, and they say the courthouse has been evacuated after a bomb threat was made.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Cal Fire received a call from the courthouse after an explosive device was found.

The device caused the courthouse glass doors to shatter. Authorities removed it.

At around 10 a.m., the sheriff's department says it received a bomb threat. The courthouse was evacuated and a bomb-sniffing dog was brought in to clear the building.

Officials say the courthouse will be closed all day Tuesday. It's not yet known if it will be back open on Wednesday.
